  • This table contains a snapshot list of published taxa names from the Victorian Biodiversity Atlas (VBA). The VERS_DATE (version date) column indicates data currency. The VBA holds information at many taxa levels, but usually only species level records are included in this table. The exception to this rule are taxa that have records in the VBA even through the taxon has not been resolved to species level. The main attributes in this table are the current VBA taxon_id, scientific name, common name, authority, family (where relevant), conservation status, origin and taxon type. Where possible, taxon id's have been included that provide a match to the obsolete Atlas of Victorian Wildlife taxaid, and the Flora Infromation System.

  • A dataset describing the disturbance history and biophysical characteristics of Victoria's publicly managed land estate in preparation for accountable carbon modelling. It was developed using a series of available corporate and other datasets on information such as wildfire and planned burn history, fire severity, harvesting history, vegetation type, soil type, IBRA region and forest extent. In essence it is a disturbance history layer from 1930 to 2009, containing approximately 750,000 unique features.

  • Land Carbon version 2 is a dataset describing the disturbance history and biophysical characteristics of Victoria’s publicly managed land estate in preparation for carbon modelling purposes. It was developed using a series of available corporate and other datasets on information such as wildfire and planned burn history, harvesting history, IBRA region, and forest extent. In essence it is a disturbance history layer from 1930 to 2009, containing approximately 1,000 multipart polygons.

  • This dataset is a look up table that links the values in the different species code fields in the HUNT25_MTE_APP layer to the category of hunting that is permitted for each of the species at a particular location. Note : Hunters are personally responsible for acting in accordance with the Firearms Act 1996 (including informing themselves about any prohibited locations within the areas shown on this map) and other relevant laws; obtaining the required hunting licence; and for hunting only within season. More information can be obtained from the Game Management Authority's web site. Vicmap Basemap Services | State Government of Victoria | @DELWP

  • Land Carbon version 1 is a dataset describing the aboveground carbon estimate of Victoria’s publicly managed land estate in 2006. It was developed using a series of available corporate and other datasets on information such as relative age estimates. The point data comprises 64,000 points, leveraged off the SFRI data, with each point representing a 1km2 grid.
