  • This polyline dataset represents the centreline of active tourist/heritage railway corridors in Victoria. The dataset inclues the Bellarine Penninsula Tourist Railway, Daylesford Spa Country Tourist Railway, Mornington Tourist Railway, Puffing Billy Tourist Railway, South Gippsland Tourist Railway, Victorian Goldfields Railway, Walhalla Goldfields Tourist Railway and Yarra Valley Tourist Railway. The railways are run by non-profit groups who are mainly volunteers and rely on strong community involvement and support. The dataset does not include several miniture railways and tramways also found in Victoria.

  • The Victorian Heritage Register lists the State's most significant heritage places and objects protected under the Heritage Act 1995.

  • This layer depicts spatial objects (points) representing SkyBus stops. Each bus stop has attributes that describe StopID, StopName, Lat/Long, Ticket Zone and Routes Using Stop. The data has been generated from the PTV GTFS data with extra attributes from PTV's TransNet database. This dataset supersedes "PTV_BUS_STOP" (which included skybus stops). This dataset was first loaded into the VSDL in March 2018 and will be updated approximately quarterly.

  • This package of data contains the 18 PTV spatial layers. See each individual metadata records for further detials. • This layer identifies the location of coastal boat moorings and harbours along the Victorian coastline. This includes marina and other fixed birth moorings, jetty moorings and swing moorings. The layer represents each location as a single point. The area of some swing moorings are quite large, but represented by a single point.

  • This dataset represents road elements of the Victorian Principal Freight Network (PFN) as presented in Victoria the Freight State 2013. The Principal Freight Network (PFN) was defined in the 2008 Freight Futures document as "The Principal Freight Network is the part of the larger transport network over which the movement of heavy freight will be concentrated. This will be achieved by upgrading the capacity of the network to move freight and by ensuring that the network is managed to reduce freight travel time and increase the reliability of freight movement."

  • This layer depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing metropolitan tram routes. Each polylines represents a unique route variation. Each route has attributes that describe route, trip headsign (direction), route length, first/last stop, number of stops and operator name. The data has been generated from the PTV GTFS data with extra attributes from PTV's TransNet database. This dataset supersedes "PTV_TRAM_ROUTE". This dataset was first loaded into the VSDL in March 2018 and will be updated approximately quarterly.

  • This point layer identifies the location of coastal boat ramps, boat launches and boat slipways along the Victorian coastline. Boat ramps are interpreted as having a sealed surface (usually concrete), where the water can be accessed by a boat trailer. The sealed surface extends into the water (at least at high tide). Boat launches have a natural surface where the water can be accessed by a boat trailer (usually across the beach). Boat launch sites will sometimes have a sealed surface from the road or car park to the top of the beach. Slipways are interpreted as facilities where a boat is transported to the water on rails.

  • This layer depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing SkyBus routes. Each polylines represents a unique route variation. Each coach route has attributes that describe route, trip headsign (direction), route length, first/last stop, number of stops and operator name. The data has been generated from the PTV GTFS data with extra attributes from PTV's TransNet database. This dataset supersedes "PTV_BUS_ROUTE_METRO" (which included SkyBus routes). This dataset was first loaded into the VSDL in March 2018 and will be updated approximately quarterly.

  • This point dataset represents active rail stations in Victoria. It includes railway stations served by Metro services, V/Line services and interstate passenger services to Sydney and Adelaide (the XPT and Overland rail service). The data may also include any "under construction" stations. The data includes attributes which identify if the station is used by Metro services, V/Line services and interstate passenger services. The attributes also the StopID, ticket zone and if the station is a premium station.
