2006-7 South West Elevation - Coastal Elevation
project:
cep04-2006-07_south-west-coast
The 2006-7 South-West Region LiDAR - Coastal Elevation consists of high accuracy LiDAR data covering coastal strip between
Anglesea and the SA Border and inland approximately until the terrain exceeds 10m in height. This survey covered an area of
approximately 875 square kilometres representing approximately 400 kilometres of coastline.
This data has been aquired to support projects being undertaken by Victorian Government's Future Coasts, Local Government
and Catchment Management Authorities.
From the raw LiDAR data, a suite of elevation products was generated including 1m DEM and 0.5m Contours.
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an airborne remote sensing technique for rapid collection of terrain data. The sensor
used for this LiDAR project collected XYZ and Intensity data for first and last return by bouncing a pulse from the aircraft
to the surface that enables the height and intensity values to be calculated.
Project Products: DEM, Contours, raw LiDAR and rough orthophotos.
