Description

Title
Vicmap Features - Building Point
Alternate title
BUILDING_POINT
Purpose
A dynamic Victorian database containing houses, sheds, structures, buildings, undefined buildings. This dataset is best used in conjunction with VMFEAT_BUILDING_POLYGON and VMFEAT_PL_PLACE_AREA_POLYGON to show buildings across the state. No undefined building data is held inside the built up area polygons of Victoria. This dataset contains those undefined buildings that are not already represented as undefined building polygons in VMFEAT_BUILDING_POLYGON. It excludes undefined buildings contained within the built up area polygons held in VMFEAT_BUILTUP_AREA and defined features held in VMFOI. (no duplication eg care facilities, emergency facilities, hospitals & schools are held in VMFOI). This is a fundamental spatial reference file that describes the feature, location. compatible with Vicmap Features of Interest dataset - no duplication of features

Attribute Quality
Comments
Features where Custodial Agreements are in place will have a high level of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. Features where authoritative sources have been identified and data exchanged (Custodial Agreement not finalised) will have a high level of completeness in terms of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. Features where authoritative sources are yet to be identified will have varied levels of completeness in terms of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. This could range from extremely low to high dependant on the maintenance that may/may not have been applied to the particular feature over the last 20 years.

Positional Accuracy
Comments
all data should better the original 1:25000 accuracy standards and retain the vertical alignment with other Vicmap Topographic datasets

Conceptual Consistency
Comments
The allowable error in logical consistency ranges between 1% (new data additions) to 5% (premaintenance contract data).

Missing Data
Comments
statewide exclusions builtup area polygons, building polygons
