Purpose

These datasets are being created to improve the quality assurance processes associated with validating the names of features within the Vicmap products. They will assist the quality of Vicmap by enabling better connections through Vicnames. This is a fundamental spatial reference file that describes the feature, location and name.

Features where Custodial Agreements are in place will have a high level of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. Features where authoritative sources have been identified and data exchanged (Custodial Agreement not finalised) will have a high level of completeness in terms of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. Features where authoritative sources are yet to be identified will have varied levels of completeness in terms of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. This could range from extremely low to high dependant on the maintenance that may/may not have been applied to the particular feature over the last 20 years.
