Vicmap Features - Geomark Index Centroid

dataset: GEOMARK_INDEX_CENTROID
Point location of named or 'could be' named Victorian topographic features. Inclusions are rivers, water bodies, transport (excluding roads), geographic features and most of the Vicmap Features of Interest content. These features all reside within the Vicmap Framework Products. Features are combined to create one piece of geometry based on name and type. The centroid table holds ALL features ONCE regardless of whether they were derived from a point, line or polygon.

Description

Title
Vicmap Features - Geomark Index Centroid
Alternate title
GEOMARK_INDEX_CENTROID
Purpose
These datasets are being created to improve the quality assurance processes associated with validating the names of features within the Vicmap products. They will assist the quality of Vicmap by enabling better connections through Vicnames. This is a fundamental spatial reference file that describes the feature, location and name.

Attribute Quality
Comments
Features where Custodial Agreements are in place will have a high level of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. Features where authoritative sources have been identified and data exchanged (Custodial Agreement not finalised) will have a high level of completeness in terms of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. Features where authoritative sources are yet to be identified will have varied levels of completeness in terms of feature, attribute and classification with their real-world instances. This could range from extremely low to high dependant on the maintenance that may/may not have been applied to the particular feature over the last 20 years.

Positional Accuracy
Comments
all data should better the original 1:25000 accuracy standards and retain the vertical alignment with other Vicmap Topographic datasets

Conceptual Consistency
Comments
The allowable error in logical consistency ranges between 1% (new data additions) to 5% (premaintenance contract data).

Missing Data
Comments
whole of state this is a expanding database - further features may be included
