Purpose

The main purpose is to assist DELWP staff with the management of recreation assets and to promote these assests for public use. This dataset replaces the RFDB_BIRD_VIEWING_HIDE, RFDB_BOARDWALK, RFDB_BRIDGE, RFDB_GENERATOR, RFDB_HANG GLIDING LAUNCH, RFDB-INFORMATION SHELTER, RFDB_JETTY, RFDB_PICNIC SHELTER, RFDB_SITE ELEMENT, RFDB_ELEVATED STAIRS, RFDB_TOILET BLOCK, RFDB_VIEWING PLATFORM datasets.

History: Formerly RFDB_BIRD_VIEWING_HIDE, RFDB_BOARDWALK, RFDB_BRIDGE, RFDB_GENERATOR, RFDB_HANG GLIDING LAUNCH, RFDB-INFORMATION SHELTER, RFDB_JETTY, RFDB_PICNIC SHELTER, RFDB_SITE ELEMENT, RFDB_ELEVATED STAIRS, RFDB_TOILET BLOCK, RFDB_VIEWING PLATFORM December, 2018 Addition of Unique Feature Identifier (UFI), a combination of the entity id and update date. Incremental update is enable using the UFI numbers. Current Design Issues: Recreation Facilites Database datatsets are currently captured as individual shapefiles which are validated, merged and migrated to the FORESTS schema of the corporate SDE evironment via an Arc/Info aml based process. Related Documents: None This dataset replaces the RFDB asset datasets- Bird Viewing Hide, Boardwalk, Bridge, Rec Generator, Hang Gliding Launch, Information Shelter, Jetty, Picnic Shelter, Recreation Element, Elevated Stairs, Toilet Block and Viewing Platform. Several tables with their Lat and Lon values are combined into the RECWEB_ASSET dataset. Oracle SQL is used to create the final tables structure. Oracle spatial is used to create the points layer. The majority of points have sub metre accuracy. All data has been post processed using GPSnet base stations.

Attribute Quality

Recreation Facility attributes were collected on site. The majority of the attributes are from drop down lists which minimises errors. 

Positional Accuracy

Data has been collected with a Trimble pro XR GSP with an external antenna. The majority of points have sub metre accuracy, detailed in the attributes. The upper limit of accuracy is within 10m for 95% of the data. All data has been post processed using GPSnet base stations.

Description

All data has been post processed by base stations. A customised processing system screens the data to ensure all serial numbers are unique and to detect spelling errors.
